Marijuana use is also prevalent. 36.5% of this age group reported using the drug, the highest among all population segments. Alarmingly, 27.1% of young adults were also diagnosed with substance use disorder (SUD). Across all age groups, this is also the highest rate.1
At Continuum Outpatient Center, we’re committed to challenging these statistics with comprehensive, compassionate, and accessible SUD support — one individual at a time.
Mental health challenges within this age group add another layer of complexity. In 2022, 13.6% of young adults aged 18 to 25 experienced serious suicidal thoughts. This rate was higher than any other adult age group.2
Our partial hospitalization program is for those who require intensive, structured support but do not need 24-hour inpatient care. It is a four-week program that provides structure for six hours per day, five days a week.
For young adults needing a flexible yet focused approach, our IOP provides personalized care without the need for full-day hospital attendance. This program allows individuals to continue their daily activities, such as work or school while receiving targeted treatment.
The outpatient drug program offers ongoing support for young adults who have transitioned from more intensive care or who are beginning their treatment journey.
At Continuum Outpatient Center, we recognize that some issues stemming from substance abuse in young adults are best addressed with more immersive care. To address this need, we offer residential treatment at Ripple Ranch, a partner treatment facility.
EMDR is utilized to address trauma-related symptoms that often accompany substance abuse. This therapy aids young adults in processing traumatic memories and reducing their emotional impact.
