About Us

Individualized care that is built around healing, respect, empowerment, and choice.
Continuum Outpatient Center is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) facility for the treatment of substance use and mental health disorders. We are located near San Antonio, Texas, and our programs are designed to help patients overcome their past trauma, prevent relapse, learn skills to enhance their lives, and mend relationships. We are here to teach our patients as well as help them change their patterns by showing them how to apply their skills to everyday life.

Our Mission

Continuum Outpatient aims to provide you with evidence-based treatment plans while still giving you the freedom to perform duties outside of treatment. We understand that you still lead a busy life outside of treatment, and we want to make sure that we accommodate you during this trying time of treatment.

Our Services

We offer several different forms of evidence-based treatment at Continuum Outpatient. Our programs give each patient an excellent chance for a positive outcome in recovery. Each week during the program, we focus on these topics:

  • Mindfulness
  • Life skills training
  • Relapse prevention
  • Brain Works
  • Dialectical behavior therapy basics
  • Human relationships
  • Boundaries and balance
  • Self care
  • Trauma and growth
  • Emotional IQ
  • Family roles
  • The Four Agreements

These services will be part of a structured treatment plan for patients so they can be successful in their recovery journeys.

Outpatient Schedules

Our IOP has a couple of different times that are available for patients. If you are wanting to do treatment in the mornings, our IOP morning program is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you are looking for something during the evening, our IOP evening program is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., also on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You might be wanting treatment from the comfort of your home. Luckily, Continuum Outpatient offers telehealth services. We offer our patients alternatives to 12-step programming, but we also still offer a 12-step program because we know that some patients may prefer this type of treatment plan.
We also offer several different types of therapy. We have:
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) – This form of therapy is the most well-known. CBT will help patients identify their negative thinking patterns and reevaluate them in light of reality.
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) – This form of therapy helps a person learn about accepting themselves and changing what they want to change. This will teach patients to regulate their emotions and their self-destructive behaviors.
  • Trauma therapy – Trauma therapy helps you address traumatic events in your past so you can learn ways to cope and move forward. Trauma can create a situation where you feel like you can’t move on in recovery. We are here to help you realize that you are worthy of treatment and that your trauma doesn’t define who you are.
  • Relapse prevention – On the journey of recovery, people get worried that they might stumble. Relapse prevention helps you stay on the right track, giving you the tools that you need to identify different triggers and stressors, and making sure that you stay successful in your recovery.
